I’m going to come right out and say this: Cherita and Nik are one of my all-time favorite couples.
I first met Cherita via a Skype call back in February of 2014, since they live in Texas. Cherita was full of all kinds of questions, but we hit it off pretty quickly. I got to know Nik shortly thereafter via email and a phone call. They had some very cool ideas about having an engagement session at the beach, which I’m always up for. We settled on Biloxi, MS, since it was equidistant for us all.
We scheduled their engagement session for a Thursday in May, as it would give us a rain date if we needed it. Nikki and I drove down to the coast on Wednesday before the session, and spent the better part of four hours driving 50 miles up and down the coast in each direction from the center of town, looking for the perfect beach. The perfect spot never really materialized, but we did end up finding a decent bit of sand with a few sea oats, and not too much clutter in the background. The pics from that session, and the experience of working with this couple showed me just how much Cherita and Nik are in love. They just have that something special that not all couples have. They work perfectly together, and it shows in the images.
Which brings us to their wedding, at the Tunica RiverPark, right on the edge of the Mississippi River. We could not have had a more perfect day. Perfect temps, no clouds, and an amazing sunset.
